Hunter Biden Criticizes US Afghanistan Withdrawal and Calls for Stronger Immigration Policy

Hunter Biden, son of former US President Joe Biden, has criticized certain policies from his father’s administration, stating that the process of withdrawing American troops from Afghanistan could have been managed more orderly and effectively. He also emphasized the need for the United States to have a strong immigration system but insisted that illegal immigration should not be accepted.
He made these remarks in an interview on the “Sean Ryan” podcast, adding that while the role of military generals in the troop withdrawal might be questioned, the ultimate responsibility for such decisions lies with the president. According to Hunter Biden, Joe Biden was fully aware of this responsibility.
American forces withdrew from Afghanistan in 2021 in a process accompanied by widespread chaos. During the withdrawal, an explosion at Kabul airport killed 13 American soldiers and more than 150 Afghan civilians—a tragedy many observers consider a clear symbol of mismanagement.
Hunter Biden said his father was deeply saddened and emotionally affected by these events. Previously, Donald Trump, the current US president, and several Republicans had frequently criticized the immigration policies and US troop withdrawal under Joe Biden’s administration.
Meanwhile, some analysts have described the US withdrawal in 2021 as “irresponsible,” viewing its consequences, including the rapid collapse of security structures and the Taliban’s takeover, as severe for the Afghan people.
Nevertheless, Hunter Biden defended his father’s programs supporting former US soldiers, stating that these initiatives were launched to improve their living conditions and welfare.
