Former Taloqan Police Chief Akramuddin Sarie Killed in Tehran Assassination

According to informed sources, General Akramuddin Sarie, former police chief of Takhar province during the republican era, was assassinated on Wednesday evening in Tehran. The incident occurred as he was returning to his residence from his office after finishing his daily work.

Sources report that armed assailants attacked General Sarie along the way, resulting in his death. So far, no further details have been released regarding how the attack was carried out, the identity of the attackers, or the possible motive behind the incident.

General Sarie’s family has not yet responded to the incident. Likewise, local authorities at the scene have not publicly commented on the matter.

General Sarie was a well-known security figure in northeastern Afghanistan who served as the police chief of Takhar during the republican period. Following recent political developments, he had left Afghanistan.
