Taliban Health Minister Calls Indian Medical Visas Vital for Afghan Patients

Noor Jalal Jalali, the Taliban’s acting Health Minister, praised New Delhi’s long-standing support for Afghanistan’s healthcare sector during his official visit to India. He described India’s medical visas as a crucial humanitarian channel for Afghan patients.
In an exclusive interview with an Indian network, Mr. Jalali said that Afghan citizens have been traveling to India for medical treatment for many years, a trend that has continued in recent times. According to him, a large number of patients have benefited from this opportunity and have accessed healthcare facilities in India.
The Taliban’s acting Health Minister stressed that simplifying the medical visa issuance process plays an important role in enabling Afghan patients to receive advanced medical services. This is of fundamental importance for families within Afghanistan who face a shortage of specialized healthcare resources.
India has been one of the main destinations for Afghan patients seeking treatment over the past years. Given the weak healthcare infrastructure and limited specialized services in Afghanistan, this remains a serious humanitarian need.
