Iraqi MP Highlights Key Role of Popular Mobilization Forces in National Security
An Iraqi parliament member has emphasized the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) as one of the essential pillars of the country’s security system, playing a key role in countering terrorist threats.
Mukhtar Al-Turkmani, a member of Iraq’s parliament, told the media that over the past years, these forces have effectively stood against terrorist group attacks and maintained public security.
According to him, the performance of the PMF has demonstrated that they are a national force that works with dedication across various security sectors, preventing the spread of insecurity during the most critical periods.
Al-Turkmani stressed that supporting and protecting these forces is a national responsibility because today, the PMF is an inseparable part of Iraq’s security structure. He also noted that attempts to weaken their standing among the people will not succeed.
