Iraqi Forces Arrest First-Generation ISIS Member in Anbar
Security sources in Iraq reported that as a result of operations by the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) in parts of northern Fallujah, a prominent ISIS member was identified and captured.
According to the source, the operation took place in various areas of northern Fallujah, particularly in the Al-Saqlawiyah district, where the individual was apprehended after being surrounded by security forces.
The information provided indicated that this individual was regarded as an important and influential ISIS figure and belonged to the group’s first generation of members—a generation that played a key role in the formation and expansion of ISIS activities in Iraq.
The security source added that this ISIS member used forged documents to conceal his identity and was involved in several attacks against Iraqi security forces in Anbar province. This arrest is part of ongoing efforts by Iraqi forces to curb the remnants of ISIS in the country.
