EU and UNHCR Delegation Visits Tachpol Reception Center in Kandahar

Representatives from the European Union’s Humanitarian Aid department (ECHO), together with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), undertook a joint mission to Kandahar province. During this visit, the delegation inspected the Tachpol Reception Center located near the border.
According to released information, the mission aimed to assess the situation of returnees and review the delivery of humanitarian services at one of the key entry points for migrants into the country. The Tachpol Center is among the areas that daily receive Afghan families who, after returning, require urgent assistance.
UNHCR, with ongoing support from ECHO, stated that emergency aid—including humanitarian assistance and protection services—continues for returnees in these regions. Both organizations emphasized that addressing urgent needs, especially for vulnerable families, remains their top priority.
