100-Kilowatt Solar Power Project Launched at Samangan’s Roy-Do-Ab Hospital

A 100-kilowatt solar power project has officially been inaugurated at the 20-bed hospital in Roy-Do-Ab district of Samangan province. The initiative aims to provide the medical center with a sustainable electricity supply and reduce its reliance on unstable energy sources.

Qari Lotfullah Habibi, Head of Public Health in Samangan, stated that the implementation of this project now ensures the hospital has access to reliable electricity, creating the necessary conditions for more consistent and higher-quality healthcare services for the district’s residents.

He added that stable electricity plays a key role in improving diagnostic services, maintaining medical equipment, and ensuring uninterrupted healthcare delivery at all hours—a challenge that has long plagued health centers in remote areas.

The Samangan health chief expressed appreciation for the support provided by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and other partner organizations. He emphasized the importance of maintaining and efficiently using the solar system and described the project as a significant step toward enhancing healthcare services at the district level.
