UN Warns of Impending Collapse of Humanitarian Aid in Gaza

The United Nations, along with 200 international aid organizations, has warned that ongoing restrictions on the entry and distribution of humanitarian assistance have pushed critical humanitarian operations in the Palestinian territories—particularly the Gaza Strip—to the brink of collapse.

In a joint statement, the organizations said existing obstacles have severely undermined the operational capacity of aid agencies and endangered civilian access to essential services, placing Gaza residents in increasingly dire humanitarian conditions.

The UN and aid groups stressed that imposed restrictions—including politically motivated and biased registration procedures for receiving aid—must be lifted to allow unimpeded humanitarian operations in accordance with humanitarian principles.

Citing international responsibilities to protect civilians, the organizations called for the immediate facilitation of humanitarian access, warning that the continuation of current conditions would lead to serious humanitarian consequences.
