India Reaffirms Health Aid Commitment to Afghanistan

India’s Ministry of Health has reiterated New Delhi’s commitment to continuing humanitarian assistance and cooperation in the health sector with Afghanistan, particularly in ensuring a long-term supply of medicine.
According to a statement from the ministry, Jagat Prakash Nadda, India’s Minister of Health, met with Noor Jalal Jalali, acting head of the Taliban-run Ministry of Public Health, to discuss avenues for health collaboration.
During the meeting, symbolic deliveries of cancer medications and vaccines were carried out. Indian officials said this initiative aims to address the urgent health needs of Afghanistan’s population.
India also pledged to send a larger consignment of medicine, vaccines, and a 128-slice CT scan machine to Afghanistan in the future, in a move aimed at strengthening the capacity of healthcare centers across the country.
