Tin Manufacturing Industry Sees Surge in Mazar-i-Sharif

Tin manufacturers in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of Balkh Province, report a significant increase in production this year, noting that the industry now meets a substantial portion of local market demand.

According to industry workers, the production of heaters and other metal goods within Balkh Province has expanded, with locally-made products replacing some comparable imported goods. They assess the quality of domestic products as satisfactory.

This shift, tin makers believe, has created new employment opportunities across various areas of the city, providing jobs and income for dozens of people. Several residents have also welcomed easier access to locally manufactured items.

As one of the major cities in northern Afghanistan, Mazar-i-Sharif has seen growth in certain small industries in recent years—a trend that industry workers view as a step toward strengthening domestic production and reducing reliance on imports.
