Afghan and Kyrgyz Ambassadors Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties

In a meeting between Sardar Ahmad Shakeeb, Afghanistan’s ambassador to Pakistan, and Kulichbek Sultan, the ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic, both sides emphasized enhancing political and economic relations between Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan.

According to a statement from the Afghan embassy in Pakistan, the discussion also covered the historical, religious, and cultural ties between the two nations, with both parties stressing the need to continue and strengthen these relations at various levels.

During the meeting, Ambassador Shakeeb referred to actions taken by the Taliban administration concerning Kyrgyz minorities living in the Wakhan Pamir region. He stated that Taliban officials claim to be working to improve the welfare and conditions of all minority groups.

In response, the Kyrgyz ambassador welcomed the services provided to the Kyrgyz minority, calling them a positive step. He also reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s support for expanding relations with Afghanistan and noted that steps have already been taken in this direction.
