Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Students Stranded in Afghanistan Due to Route Closures

Students from Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province studying at universities in Afghanistan have become stranded in the country as travel routes close with the onset of winter, facing serious difficulties.

According to reports, the students are unable to return home at a time when several Afghan universities are suspending academic activities for winter break, making it critical for the students to travel back.

In response, the provincial assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has passed a resolution urging the Pakistani government to take immediate and necessary measures to resolve the issue and ensure the safe return of the stranded students.

The closure of travel routes has also heightened concerns among the students’ families. The students warn that the ongoing situation could negatively affect both their education and living conditions.
