US Concerned Over Stability of Jolani-Led Power Structure in Syria: Israeli Media

According to a report by an Israeli media outlet, the United States has expressed concern over a possible collapse of the power structure led by Abu Mohammad al-Jolani in Syria and is attempting to prevent the weakening of his position.
The i24 News website reported that Washington views al-Jolani as its ally in Syria and considers maintaining his authority to be part of U.S. strategic interests in the region. In this context, it is said that the United States is seeking to contain security pressures on Damascus.
The report further states that Tom Barrack, the special envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump, is scheduled to arrive in the occupied territories today to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials to discuss regional developments, particularly the situation in Syria and Washington’s red lines.
The report adds that the U.S. is concerned that repeated Israeli attacks on various areas in Syria could lead to further instability and the collapse of the power structure in Damascus. As a result, Washington is working to create the conditions for a security agreement between Damascus and Tel Aviv.
Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump stressed that Washington considers genuine dialogue between Israel and Syria to be important.
This comes as, following the ouster of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, neither the internal conflicts nor armed tensions in Syria have ended, and Israeli attacks on various parts of the country have continued. Critics argue that U.S. support for the current power structure in Syria is driven more by Washington’s political and economic interests—including access to Syria’s oil and gas resources—than by a desire to ensure the stability and security of the Syrian people.
