UNRWA Continues School Health Screenings Across Gaza

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has announced the continuation of health screenings for schoolchildren across the Gaza Strip. The program is being implemented with a focus on addressing children’s basic healthcare needs within educational environments.
As part of the initiative, UNRWA teams are conducting standard medical examinations, including general health assessments, hearing and vision tests, and the administration of essential vaccinations. The aim of these services is to ensure early detection of health issues and prevent long-term complications for children.
According to information released by the agency, UNRWA also provides speech therapy services to children who require them. In addition, prescription eyeglasses are distributed free of charge to students diagnosed with vision problems.
The Gaza Strip is among the most densely populated areas in the world and faces widespread challenges in accessing healthcare services. In such circumstances, the continuation of these school-based health programs is seen as vital to safeguarding children’s well-being.
