Traffic Accident in Samangan Claims Three Lives, Including Two Women

At least three people, including two women, were killed in a traffic accident in Hazrat Sultan district of Samangan province. Four others were injured in the incident.
Officials from the traffic department of the Samangan police headquarters said the accident occurred due to the driver’s negligence. According to them, the medical condition of the injured is currently under review.
Samangan, located in northern Afghanistan, struggles with inadequate road safety due to a lack of consistent traffic monitoring and insufficient warning signs on highways and secondary roads. Despite recurring incidents, the Taliban administration has yet to introduce a clear and effective plan to improve road safety and raise driver awareness in the province.
Local residents have repeatedly voiced concerns over the rising number of road accidents across various areas of Samangan. They have called on responsible authorities to pay serious attention to road conditions, driver education, and traffic law enforcement.
