Hamas Security Official Reportedly Killed in Israeli Airstrike in Gaza

Palestinian sources report that Riyad Al-Lubban, a security figure affiliated with Hamas, has been killed following an Israeli airstrike targeting a vehicle in the southwestern part of Gaza City. The incident has not yet been officially confirmed by Palestinian authorities, and details remain based on unofficial reports.
According to Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, the strike took place yesterday and is also believed to have killed Raed Saad, a senior commander in the Qassam Brigades—the military wing of the Hamas movement. The information was released by Palestinian sources citing Israeli media and intelligence.
Reports indicate that Riyad Al-Lubban served as the head of the personal security team for Yahya Sinwar, a top Hamas leader and chief of Qassam’s internal security and senior figure protection. His name had not previously been publicly known.
Sources also claim that Israeli forces had made several unsuccessful attempts to assassinate Raed Saad in the past. However, no official statements have yet been issued by Palestinian groups to confirm or deny the reports.
Hamas condemned the Israeli strike on a civilian vehicle in Gaza City, calling it a continued targeting of civilians and a blatant violation of humanitarian norms amid the ongoing conflict—a practice that has drawn widespread criticism from human rights organizations.
