Cash Aid Distributed to Over 600 Vulnerable Families in Nimroz Province

The Directorate of Refugees and Repatriations in Nimroz province has announced that cash assistance has been distributed to more than 600 vulnerable families, including internally displaced persons, returnees, widows, people with disabilities, and impoverished households in the provincial capital and several districts.
Mawlawi Abdullah Riaz, head of the Nimroz Directorate of Refugees and Repatriations, told Pajhwok News Agency that the aid reached 634 families in Zaranj city and the districts of Khashrod, Chakhansur, Kang, and Chahar Burjak. According to him, these families are among the most vulnerable segments of the population in these areas.
According to the provided information, this assistance was implemented by the Danish Committee for Aid to Afghan Refugees (DACAAR), in coordination with the Directorates of Refugees and Repatriations and Economy, which operate under the Taliban-led administration. The amount of cash distributed to each family ranged from 4,700 to 11,900 Afghanis, depending on family size.
Meanwhile, several recipients welcomed the aid but stated that, given widespread economic hardship and a lack of livelihood opportunities in Nimroz, such assistance falls short of meeting all their needs. They called for the continuation and expansion of aid from responsible agencies and humanitarian organizations.
