8.9 Tons of Narcotics Burned in Afghanistan’s Ghazni Province

The Ministry of Interior has announced the incineration of 8.9 tons of narcotics in Ghazni province, highlighting the ongoing efforts of the Counter-Narcotics Police. The confiscated drugs, collected over the past year, included 464 kilograms of hashish, 365 kilograms of opium, 7,743 kilograms of precursor chemicals, 350 kilograms of heroin, 15 kilograms of methamphetamine, and 3,500 tablets of psychoactive drugs known as (K). The burning of these substances was carried out in the presence of relevant officials and aimed at preventing the distribution and consumption of narcotics across the country. Authorities stated that this measure is part of a wider campaign to combat the threats posed by drug trafficking and to reduce the social harms associated with drug abuse.
