Two Taliban Fighters Killed in Kunduz Attack, Afghan Freedom Front Claims

The Afghanistan Freedom Front has claimed responsibility for a nighttime attack on a Taliban recruitment center in the city of Kunduz, saying two Taliban fighters, including a local commander identified as Qari Obaidullah, were killed and three others injured.

In a statement released by the group, the operation was carried out on Friday evening and targeted institutions affiliated with the Taliban administration. Independent sources have yet to confirm the claim.

The Afghanistan Freedom Front has reported conducting similar attacks in recent months across northern provinces, including an earlier assault on the Taliban’s Directorate of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in Faryab province.

Meanwhile, the National Resistance Front also reported last week that 17 Taliban fighters were killed during clashes in Panjshir. The rise in such operations suggests continued public discontent and armed resistance in various parts of the country—an issue the Taliban have consistently denied.
