Venezuela Vows to Stand Firm Against U.S. Pressure

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has declared that his country is prepared to defend itself against any pressure or hostile actions from the United States. Speaking to supporters in the capital, Caracas, Maduro stated that Venezuela would resist if necessary against what he described as the ‘North American empire’ in order to protect its sovereignty.

Maduro also claimed that the ruling party is the only force capable of maintaining stability and peace inside the country. His comments follow international media reports that the United States has seized a Venezuelan oil tanker near its coastline—a move Caracas has deemed illegal.

In a further part of his speech, the Venezuelan president described the current period as one requiring courage and resilience, calling on rural communities and grassroots movements to stand with the government in defense of national independence. He emphasized that the people of Venezuela would protect their nation against any foreign threats.

Maduro’s remarks come amid historically tense relations between Caracas and Washington in recent years. U.S. economic sanctions have had a significant impact on Venezuela’s economy and society.
