US Launches ‘Golden Card’ Program to Attract Foreign Investors

The United States, under the leadership of President Donald Trump, has officially launched a new initiative known as the “Golden Card” aimed at attracting foreign investors and boosting the country’s national income. According to the program, individuals seeking expedited U.S. residency must first pay $15,000 to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Following legal review, applicants must then pay an additional $1 million in order to obtain residency and receive the right to live and work in the United States.
During a press conference at the White House, Trump stated that the Golden Card is essentially a form of permanent residency but comes with more benefits than standard residency permits. According to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, more than 10,000 people have already applied for the program, and American officials hope to raise billions of dollars through the sale of thousands of similar cards.
The initiative is being introduced at the same time that Washington is implementing tougher policies toward foreign migrants. In recent months, the cost of work visas has increased, and the deportation of undocumented immigrants has intensified. Some observers argue that the sale of the Golden Card highlights a contradiction in U.S. policy — between restrictive immigration measures and efforts to attract foreign capital.
