Taliban Approves Establishment of Advanced Mineral Testing Labs Across Afghanistan

The recent meeting of the Economic Commission’s technical committee, held on Monday, December 7 at the Marble Palace, reviewed the plan to establish advanced laboratories for assessing the quality of minerals in Kabul and several other provinces. According to information provided by the Economic Deputy of the Prime Minister’s Office, the proposal received support from meeting participants and was approved.

According to the announced details, a total budget of 233 million Afghan afghanis has been allocated for the launch of these laboratories. Of this amount, 15 million will be spent on construction, while the remaining 218 million afghanis will be used to acquire modern, high-tech equipment.

The establishment of these laboratories is expected to enhance the country’s mineral extraction and export activities. While Afghanistan holds abundant mineral reserves, the lack of standard testing facilities has long been a major obstacle to the proper and transparent exploitation of these resources.

Ensuring financial transparency and proper oversight in the implementation of this project by the Taliban administration requires persistent demand and scrutiny from both the public and the media. This oversight is essential to ensure that the country’s national interests and underground wealth are properly protected and managed.
