Taliban Interior Minister Praises Special Police Forces at Completion of Training Seminar

Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Taliban’s acting Interior Minister, commended Afghanistan’s special police forces during a speech at the closing ceremony of a training seminar held at the central command of these units. Haqqani praised the role of the special forces in maintaining nationwide security, stating that their competence and performance are acknowledged not only by allies but also by adversaries.

In his remarks, Haqqani urged the commanders of the special units to conduct themselves with honesty, humility, and caution in their official duties with the Afghan populace. He stressed that they should use their physical and mental capabilities to ‘protect the Islamic system.’ Haqqani also emphasized that special forces must serve as a model of discipline and obedience.

During the same event, General Amin Jan Fattahullah, the commander of the special forces, presented a report on the activities and achievements of these units. He noted that the leadership’s focus on training and strict adherence to orders has enabled the special forces to make significant strides in providing security.

However, analysts warn that the Taliban’s increased emphasis on military training and forces comes at a time when Afghanistan is facing severe economic and humanitarian challenges. Many believe that continuing this approach without addressing civil needs may widen the gap between the population and the Taliban-led administration.
