Three Killed in Separate Traffic Accidents in Faryab Province

Three separate traffic accidents claimed the lives of three residents in Afghanistan’s Faryab province over the past day, according to the provincial police department.
A spokesperson for the Faryab security directorate said the first incident occurred in the Paridgah area of the city’s fifth district, where a truck fatally struck a 24-year-old woman. The truck’s driver has been arrested by security forces.
In the second incident, a 12-year-old child was hit and killed by a motorcycle in the Taklikhana neighborhood of Maimana city. The motorcyclist fled the scene, and an investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the suspect.
The third accident took place in Dawlatabad district, where a Benz Khaur-type truck collided with a Suzuki vehicle, resulting in the death of the Suzuki’s driver. Reports indicate that the truck driver has been taken into custody.
The recurrence of fatal traffic accidents in Faryab has raised public concerns over the lack of standardized traffic management, inadequate driver oversight, and insufficient road safety measures. Residents are urging the Taliban authorities to take serious steps to improve road security and enforce traffic regulations.
