Israeli Military Intensifies Raids Across West Bank and Gaza Despite Ceasefire

The Israeli military has escalated its operations across various parts of the Palestinian territories over the past 24 hours, despite an announced ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The latest reports indicate that Israeli forces launched simultaneous raids on multiple cities and refugee camps in the West Bank early this morning.

According to the Palestinian Information Center, clashes have spread from Jericho in the east to Hebron in the south, and from Nablus to Tubas in the north. The Israeli military reportedly began its latest campaign by entering the Aqabat Jaber camp in Jericho, before targeting Ein Yabrud northeast of Ramallah and Beit Furik east of Nablus. Local sources say troops subsequently moved to Beit Rima, Tubas, and Tammun, where they surrounded and searched several homes.

In Hebron, raids on the towns of Beit Ummar and al-Dhahiriya sparked intense confrontations between residents and Israeli forces. In the southern areas of Bethlehem, including Beit Fajjar and al-Manshiya, home inspections carried on for several hours. Similar military operations were reported in the northern West Bank cities of Burqin, Rummanah, Arrabah, and Burqa, resulting in several arrests, including of a child.

Meanwhile, fresh military actions have been reported in the Gaza Strip, where heavy Israeli air and ground attacks persisted in Rafah, Khan Younis, and eastern Gaza City. Eyewitnesses described intense artillery shelling, the destruction of multiple residential buildings in eastern Khan Younis, and strikes on the neighborhoods of al-Tuffah and al-Zaytoun.

Israeli naval forces also stepped up activity by shelling coastal waters near Khan Younis. These measures, despite the declared ceasefire, have raised new concerns over Tel Aviv’s repeated violations of international commitments. Political observers interpret this behavior as a continued disregard by Israel for human rights norms and the safety of Palestinian civilians.
