Unidentified Drone Spotted Over Three Afghan Provinces

Local sources in Kapisa province reported on Sunday (December 6, 2025) that an unidentified drone entered the province’s airspace from the east at around 9:40 AM. The drone flew over the first and second districts of Kohistan in Kapisa before heading towards parts of Parwan and Panjshir provinces.
According to the sources, the unmanned aircraft was later seen over Seydkhel district in Parwan, and eventually entered the village of Faraj in Panjshir. The drone’s presence in these provinces—considered key strategic areas in the northeastern part of the country—has raised concerns among local residents.
So far, the drone’s origin, purpose, and the country behind it remain unknown. The Taliban authorities have not issued any statement regarding the incident. This event has once again fueled questions about the security of Afghanistan’s airspace and the Taliban administration’s capacity to safeguard it.
This comes after previous reports of drone activity over Kabul province, raising concerns about the recurrence of such incidents across Afghanistan’s skies.
