Civilian Death Toll Rises After Pakistani Border Strikes in Kandahar

The number of casualties from overnight Pakistani military attacks on Spin Boldak district in Kandahar province has risen, local sources confirm. Five civilians were killed and five others wounded in the incident.

The clashes began late last night and continued intermittently until early morning. According to local officials, the shelling was initiated by Pakistani border forces, prompting retaliatory attacks by the Taliban administration.

Spin Boldak, a key border crossing between Afghanistan and Pakistan, has frequently witnessed bloody confrontations between the two sides. The rising number of civilian casualties in these assaults has sparked serious human rights concerns.

Since reclaiming control of Afghanistan, the Taliban has assumed responsibility for border security but has failed to prevent repeated incursions by Pakistani forces. In the absence of a recognized government and an accountable system, residents of border areas remain increasingly vulnerable.
