Cross-Border Clashes Between Pakistani Forces and Taliban Leave Three Injured

On the evening of Friday, December 4, heavy clashes broke out between Pakistani forces and Taliban fighters in the border area of Chaman, located in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. The confrontation left three people injured, including a woman, all of whom were transported to a local hospital.
Mohammad Owais, head of Chaman Hospital, confirmed that the injured were brought to the medical facility following last night’s violence. According to Pakistani sources cited by local media, the exchange of fire was triggered by a rocket attack launched from Afghan territory, prompting a military response from Pakistani forces.
A security official in Quetta, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that the gunfire exchange began around 10 p.m. and continued late into the night. As of now, there have been no reports regarding casualties on the Afghan side.
Over the past two months, tensions between the Taliban and the Pakistani government have escalated along the Durand Line, with recurring military attacks and retaliations becoming a growing concern. One of the most notable incidents was an eight-day skirmish in October that resulted in the deaths of at least 37 people.
Many observers attribute the escalating violence to the Taliban administration’s inability to secure border regions and control armed groups operating within Afghanistan. As these clashes persist, residents of border areas face increasing risks and instability.
