Two Road Construction Projects Completed in Afghanistan’s Logar Province

The Taliban administration has announced the completion of two infrastructure projects in Logar Province, which are now operational. The projects cost a total of 9.6 million Afghanis and were implemented by the Ministry of Public Works under the current administration.
According to information released by the Taliban’s Ministry of Public Works press office, one of the projects involved the concreting of a 150-meter connecting road in the Altmoor area of Logar Province, executed at a cost of 2.1 million Afghanis.
Officials stated that the aim of these projects is to improve traffic safety, guide drivers of heavy vehicles, and prevent road damage caused by such vehicles.
Although the completion of these types of projects in the provinces is viewed as a positive step, experts have frequently criticized the Taliban administration for its opaque resource management and lack of coordination among projects. The absence of independent oversight bodies has also raised concerns regarding the quality, prioritization, and durability of these initiatives.
