18 Infrastructure Projects Completed in Kapisa Province

The Department of Economy in Kapisa province has announced the completion and operational launch of 18 infrastructure projects in the districts of Kohband, Hesa Duwum Kohistan, and Nijrab over the past eight months.

According to the department, the projects include the cleaning of irrigation canals, reinforcement of riverbanks and flood barriers, and the repair of water reservoirs—all of which aim to address the essential needs of residents in the mentioned areas.

The provincial Economy Department also reported that 50 additional projects are currently underway in the Tagab, Nijrab, and Alasay districts, with a total budget exceeding 829 million Afghanis. These projects consist mainly of road construction and rehabilitation.

While local development efforts continue, persistent concerns have been raised by residents and monitoring organizations over the lack of transparency in project implementation and management under Taliban administration. Analysts argue that without the establishment of a legitimate and accountable government, such projects will fall short of meeting the broader developmental needs of the country.
