Khamenei: US and Israel Failed in Recent Conflict

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said in a televised speech aired on Iranian state media last night that the United States and Israel failed to achieve their objectives during what he referred to as the ’12-day war.’ He described the conflict as a complete failure for both countries.

Khamenei asserted that Iran stood firm during the confrontation, not only responding to attacks but also strengthening internal support—even among former regime opponents. He added that despite more than two decades of preparation for this war, the Israeli regime returned empty-handed and failed to reach its goals.

The Iranian leader also emphasized that the United States employed some of its most advanced military technologies—including warplanes and submarines—yet still failed to intimidate the Iranian people or influence public opinion.

Criticizing U.S. foreign policy, Khamenei stated that wherever America is involved, it leaves behind traces of war, destruction, displacement, and even genocide. He pointed to the war in Ukraine and Israeli offensives in Palestinian territories, Syria, and Lebanon, attributing these actions to direct American support.

In the final part of his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei dismissed rumors of Iran sending a message to the U.S. through a third country as “a complete lie.” He described relations with the United States as unacceptable and unworthy for the Islamic Republic. Khamenei concluded by accusing the U.S. of betraying even its allies and engaging in warfare solely for economic interests such as oil and mineral resources.
