Afghanistan Condemns Killing of Three Chinese Nationals in Tajikistan

Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the killing of three Chinese nationals in the Shamsuddin Shohin district of Khatlon Province, Tajikistan. In an official statement, the ministry expressed deep regret over the incident and warned that ongoing efforts are being made to destabilize the region.
According to preliminary findings and reports from relevant agencies, the statement said that groups involved in the attack seek to foster insecurity, distrust, and division among regional countries. Without naming any specific group, the ministry emphasized that such incidents should not weaken regional ties.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also pledged to fully cooperate with the Tajik government in conducting a comprehensive investigation. Afghan officials stated that the country stands ready to assist with information sharing, technical collaboration, and joint assessments with Tajik authorities.
While the Taliban administration also issued a symbolic message of condolence to the victims’ families, the experience of the past two years has shown its inadequate performance in ensuring regional security and preventing extremist group activities. The absence of a legitimate government and the spread of instability in border areas have created a favorable environment for the growth of armed groups, raising serious concerns among neighboring countries.
