Palestinian Foreign Ministry: 33,000 Women Killed by Israeli Strikes Over Two Years

On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry announced that at least 33,000 women and girls have been killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip over the past two years. The ministry described these figures as a clear indication of the most extreme forms of discrimination and structural violence against women in the 21st century.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said that Israel has committed genocide in Gaza, resulting in devastating violations of women’s human rights. According to the report, despite a ceasefire implemented last month, Israeli attacks have intensified in the occupied West Bank, leading to a rising number of casualties there as well.
The Gaza Administration’s media office released a separate report stating that over the past two years, more than 12,500 women and over 20,000 children have been killed due to Israeli bombings and assaults, forming part of a total of 69,000 Palestinian casualties caused by Israeli military operations.
Palestinian human rights organizations and families of the victims further reported that more than 1,080 individuals have been killed in the West Bank alone as a result of Israeli military actions, many of them women.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Israel is implementing a systematic policy of violence and oppression against Palestinian women through extrajudicial killings, arbitrary detentions, forced disappearances, physical and sexual torture, the creation of famine, and the spread of fear. According to the ministry, these actions constitute clear examples of crimes against humanity and serious violations of international humanitarian law.
