Zelensky to Visit Washington for Peace Talks with Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to travel to the United States in late November to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington for discussions on a new peace initiative.
Rustem Umerov, Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, announced on social media that recent talks between Ukrainian officials and their American counterparts in Geneva were constructive and effective. He emphasized that Kyiv supports Donald Trump’s efforts to end the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia.
According to Umerov, both sides reached a mutual understanding on several key principles of a potential peace agreement during the Geneva meeting. He added that Ukrainian officials are looking forward with optimism to President Zelensky’s trip to the U.S. and his direct meeting with President Trump.
This upcoming visit comes amid the continued war between Ukraine and Russia, which remains one of the world’s most pressing crises after years of conflict. Many political analysts believe that a more active role by the United States in reducing tensions and facilitating peace could significantly shape the future trajectory of the conflict.
