Hamas and Islamic Jihad to Hand Over Body of Israeli Captive to Red Cross Tonight

The armed wings of the Palestinian groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad announced on Tuesday, November 25, that they will hand over the body of an Israeli captive to Red Cross representatives in Gaza as part of the prisoner exchange agreement known as ‘Al-Aqsa Storm.’

The Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s military wing, confirmed that the body was discovered in central Gaza and is scheduled to be transferred to the Red Cross at around 4 p.m. local time. Saraya al-Quds, the military wing of Islamic Jihad, also stated that the handover will be conducted in accordance with pre-established protocols.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office responded sharply to the announcement, stating that any delay by Islamic Jihad in handing over the body would be considered a violation of the current ceasefire.

These developments come amid an ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and continued international mediation efforts aimed at advancing the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreements. The Taliban administration in Afghanistan has not yet commented on the matter, while the broader Islamic world has expressed support for justice and the reduction of violence in the region.
