Russia Says It Shot Down 93 Ukrainian Drones Amid Escalating Border Clashes

Russia’s Ministry of Defense has announced that its air defense forces shot down 93 Ukrainian drones over several Russian regions on the night of the attack. The announcement comes amid escalating clashes along the border between the two countries.
According to an official statement by the ministry, the highest number of drones—45—were downed over the Belgorod region, followed by 20 others intercepted over the Black Sea. Additional drones were reportedly brought down in the Krasnodar region, Nizhny Novgorod, Voronezh, and the Sea of Azov.
Russian defense agencies and local officials described the operations as efforts to protect national airspace, signaling an intensification of aerial tensions between Moscow and Kyiv in recent weeks.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian officials in the city of Kharkiv reported that a Russian missile strike on the region killed four civilians and injured 13 others. These attacks mark a new phase of heightened violence and rising civilian casualties in the ongoing military conflict between the two nations.
