Hezbollah Confirms Death of Senior Commander in Israeli Airstrike

Hezbollah has confirmed the death of one of its senior commanders, Haitham Ali Tabatabaei, following a recent Israeli airstrike on the Harat Hreik district in southern Beirut. The group stated that Tabatabaei, also known by the nom de guerre ‘Sayyed Abu Ali,’ was killed while ‘defending Lebanon.’
In an official statement, Hezbollah described Tabatabaei as a key figure in the establishment and consolidation of its military structure, saying he had dedicated his life to fighting Israel.
According to Hezbollah officials, the commander ‘remained on the frontlines of resistance until his final moments.’ They added that his death would further strengthen ‘the resolve and determination of the fighters.’ The group condemned the Israeli attack as a ‘treacherous act’ and affirmed that the path pursued by fallen commanders would continue.
As tensions escalate in the Middle East, observers have warned of the potential for the conflict to spread to Lebanon. While regional responses to the developments continue, the Taliban administration in Afghanistan, which claims political leadership, has so far refrained from issuing any clear or diplomatic statement regarding the commander’s death or the growing tensions.
