Hamas Accuses Israel of Violating Gaza Ceasefire Agreement

As a temporary ceasefire between Palestinian factions and Israel remains in effect in the Gaza Strip, local officials claim that Israel has violated the terms of the agreement. According to the head of the information office of Gaza’s local administration, the deal stipulates the daily entry of 600 trucks into the enclave. However, only 200 trucks have reportedly reached Gaza.

Citing the region’s deepening humanitarian crisis, the official stated that over 90% of Gaza’s population is suffering from malnutrition, and accused Israel of continuing to block essential and humanitarian aid from entering the territory. He warned that the continuation of such conditions could lead to a widespread catastrophe.

These allegations come amid claims by Palestinian officials that, despite Hamas’ adherence to the ceasefire — including the return of Israeli captives, dead or alive — Israeli forces have not only reneged on their commitments but also failed to cease intermittent attacks on Gaza.

The Gaza Strip, one of the most densely populated regions in the world, has been under Israeli blockade for years. International organizations have repeatedly warned about the dire conditions there and the urgent need for humanitarian assistance. The failure to uphold the ceasefire terms has heightened concerns over a possible escalation of violence and a deterioration of the humanitarian situation.
