99 New Recruits Join Taliban Forces After Military Training in Kabul

The Taliban’s Ministry of Defense has announced that 99 new recruits have completed a two-month military training course at the Abdullah bin Masoud Joint Combat Training Center in Kabul.
The training was held at the center’s lower-ranking officer school, and aimed to prepare individuals to join the ranks of the Taliban’s military forces.
The graduation ceremony was attended by several Taliban military officials, including Mawlawi Mahmood Qaneh, Deputy Commander of Joint Training, and Mawlawi Mohammad Musa Ahmadi, head of the training school, both of whom delivered speeches.
During the event, Mawlawi Ahmadi urged the graduates to obey the words of Taliban leaders and maintain military discipline. He also called on them to serve what he described as the “Islamic System.”
The integration of new military personnel into the Taliban administration comes as Afghanistan continues to face numerous crises, including security challenges, economic instability, and widespread human rights violations. The process of training military forces without the oversight of independent and legal institutions has raised serious questions about the goals and implications of such efforts on the country’s security and future.
