Russian Forces Advance in Key Donetsk Areas Amid Fierce Fighting

Amid ongoing heavy clashes in eastern Ukraine, Russian forces have made further gains toward consolidating their military presence in Donetsk province. According to reports by Russian state media, troops are advancing in the city of Kostyantynivka and are on the verge of capturing the nearby town of Ivanopil.

Kostyantynivka holds strategic importance due to its transport links and its role in Ukraine’s defensive structure. The city serves as one of the key lines of Russian advancement toward major Ukrainian military positions.

The Russian Ministry of Defense also announced yesterday the capture of two additional settlements in active conflict zones. According to the ministry, forces from the central and eastern military groupings have “liberated” the town of Zvanivka in Donetsk and Novoye Zaporozhye in Zaporizhzhia province.

The continued expansion of territory under Russian control highlights the deepening crisis in Ukraine — a conflict that, more than two years after the start of Moscow’s invasion, continues to claim lives and profoundly threaten regional security.
