Zabul Passenger Terminal Construction Reaches 65% Completion

The Zabul Department of Transportation has announced that construction work on the province’s main passenger terminal and the department’s administrative building is progressing rapidly, with 65% of the project completed so far.

The project, which began around seven months ago, is being implemented under a contract valued at approximately 28 million Afghanis. Local officials have expressed hope that once completed, the project will provide residents of Zabul with improved and higher-quality transportation services.

While the project is expected to help address some of Zabul’s transportation challenges, concerns remain among the public regarding a lack of transparency in the implementation process by the Taliban-run administration.

The Taliban has previously made repeated promises to improve transportation infrastructure in underdeveloped provinces like Zabul. However, the lack of oversight and transparent accountability has hindered the practical realization of such commitments and raised questions about the true effectiveness of these projects.
