Taliban Foreign Ministry Offers Condolences to India Over Deadly Medina Bus Crash

The Taliban-run Foreign Ministry has expressed condolences over the deaths of dozens of Indian pilgrims in a recent traffic accident in the city of Medina, Saudi Arabia.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, ministry spokesperson Abdul Qahar Balkhi conveyed condolences to the government and people of India, extending sympathy to the families of the victims who lost their lives in the tragic incident.

According to reports, 43 Indian pilgrims were killed and several others injured in the accident, which occurred recently on one of Medina’s roads. The pilgrims were visiting Saudi Arabia to perform religious rites.

While the message of condolence reflects a humanitarian gesture, critics note that the Taliban’s Foreign Ministry often limits its response to issuing statements in such incidents. Afghanistan, under Taliban rule, remains largely isolated internationally and lacks an active diplomatic follow-up in similar circumstances. The situation suggests that the ministry’s priorities are more symbolic than practical.
