Trump Says Ending Ukraine War Is Difficult but Achievable Through Dialogue

Donald Trump, President of the United States, has stated that although ending the war in Ukraine is not easy, achieving peace through dialogue is possible. In an interview with the New York Post, he emphasized his hope for the success of peace negotiations.
Referring to his experience in resolving international conflicts, Trump mentioned that he has settled several wars in the past and described the Ukraine war as the most difficult among them, but added that this conflict can also come to an end.
According to the New York Post, the U.S. president is optimistic about his upcoming meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, and believes this meeting could help advance the path toward a peace agreement.
Trump also stated that, in his view, both Russia and Ukraine are interested in ending the war, but in practice, there has not always been coordination between the two sides’ desires.
Meanwhile, on December 24, Volodymyr Zelensky unveiled a 20-point peace plan with Russia, emphasizing no withdrawal from the Donbas region and maintaining a large standing army.
In response, Sergei Ryabkov, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, declared that this plan significantly differs from Moscow’s 27-point proposal, which has been on the table in talks with the U.S. side since early December.
