Japan Supports Job Creation for Returnees in Nangarhar Province

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has announced that, with the support of the Japanese government, opportunities have been created to connect returnees with local businesses in Nangarhar province. This initiative has helped generate job opportunities and strengthen domestic production.
Under this program, returnees have been able to find employment in the production of Afghan-made food products, including jam, fruit juice, and pickles, while also acquiring new vocational skills.
Project officials state that the arrival of new workers has not only helped returnees reintegrate into society but also increased production capacity and the sustainability of local businesses.
These types of programs are being implemented at a time when many returnees face a shortage of job opportunities and economic hardships. Targeted support can play a crucial role in alleviating the economic pressures they endure.
