Saudi Arabia Sends Humanitarian Aid to Earthquake Victims in Mazar-i-Sharif

Saudi Arabia has announced the delivery of emergency humanitarian aid to earthquake victims in Balkh province, particularly the city of Mazar-i-Sharif. According to Saudi officials, the assistance was sent under the directives of the Kingdom’s king and crown prince following the Monday night earthquake in Khulm district.
On Wednesday, November 4, the official Al-Ekhbariya news agency reported that the aid includes food supplies and emergency equipment intended to assist those affected. The aid was delivered as part of the humanitarian relief programs conducted by Saudi Arabia’s Relief and Humanitarian Activities Center in Afghanistan.
The earthquake, which measured 6.3 on the Richter scale, struck Khulm in Balkh province, causing widespread destruction of residential homes. Reports indicate that at least 27 people were killed and more than 900 injured.
While international organizations and several countries have dispatched aid, the Taliban administration has faced widespread domestic and international criticism over inefficiency and lack of transparency in managing relief efforts. Meanwhile, the slow pace of aid distribution has raised concerns among local residents.
Given the critical condition of the affected areas, aid agencies have called on the Taliban authorities to allow for rapid and impartial delivery of assistance to those in need.
