Taliban Delegation Travels to Turkey for Talks with Pakistan

The Taliban administration has confirmed that a delegation from its ranks traveled to Turkey on Wednesday, November 4, to participate in a bilateral meeting with Pakistan.
According to Afghanistan National Television, the talks are scheduled to begin on Thursday, November 5, marking the third round of negotiations between the two parties and will take place on Turkish soil.
The delegation from the Taliban is led by Mullah Abdul Haq Wasiq, the head of the group’s intelligence agency. On the Pakistani side, the delegation is headed by Asim Munir Malik, the chief of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
While official sources have not disclosed details of the meeting’s agenda, regional experts believe the discussions will largely focus on terrorist groups—particularly Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)—as well as issues concerning the Torkham and Chaman border crossings, the movement of Afghan citizens, and broader security concerns.
The talks come amid heightened tensions between Pakistan and the Taliban administration in recent months, which have led to severe restrictions for Afghan nationals at border crossings.
