Large Hashish Production Facility Destroyed in Afghanistan’s Paktia Province

The Counter-Narcotics Directorate in Afghanistan’s Paktia province has announced that police forces have identified and dismantled a large hashish production and processing facility in the Zazi Aryub district.

According to a statement from the directorate, officials seized 12 kilograms of raw hashish and five sacks of materials used in the production process. The operation is part of ongoing anti-narcotics efforts in the province.

In a separate action, Taliban security forces arrested three residents of Dand Patan district who were reportedly addicted to drugs and transferred them to medical centers for treatment.

Located in eastern Afghanistan, Paktia is considered one of the insecure regions with widespread cultivation and trafficking of narcotics. While the Taliban administration claims to be combating drug production and trafficking, multiple reports suggest that elements within the Taliban are involved in the drug trade.
