Six Pakistani Soldiers Killed in Balochistan Sniper Attack

Security sources in Pakistan have reported that at least six military personnel, including two commando soldiers, were killed in a sniper attack by unidentified assailants in the Khaliqabad area of Kalat district, located in the Balochistan province.
According to these sources, the armed ambush occurred in a region previously known for insurgent activity. The latest assault marks a continuation of escalating violence in this volatile area.
Balochistan, situated in southwestern Pakistan, remains one of the country’s most troubled regions. Baloch separatist groups have for years carried out repeated attacks, citing discrimination and exploitation by the central government.
The incident comes amid a recent uptick in similar attacks targeting Pakistani security forces in both Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces. The surge in insurgent activity has increased concerns over weak security oversight along Pakistan’s borders with Afghanistan—a situation in which the Taliban administration’s role in contributing to regional stability remains highly contentious.
