Former Local Commander Dies Under Taliban Custody After Alleged Torture

Local sources in Parwan province report that Zamary Sayadkhil, a former local commander in the Sayadkhil district, has died following severe torture while in Taliban custody. According to these sources, Sayadkhil was imprisoned for about a month under the supervision of Mullah Abdul Haq, the current Taliban district governor.

The extensive torture reportedly inflicted on the former commander led to his paralysis. His health deteriorated in recent weeks, and he ultimately passed away last Thursday. Friends and associates claim his death was a direct result of the torture he endured during his detention.

Meanwhile, in Badakhshan province, local sources say that Hojatullah Hamed Ahmadi, a resident of Cheshmeh-Bidar village in the Jozgon valley of Faizabad city, was arrested about a week ago by Taliban intelligence forces. The reason for his arrest is believed to be critical posts on his Facebook page related to issues such as the looting of Afghanistan’s mines and the ongoing conflict in Pakistan.

Despite several days passing since Ahmadi’s detention, Taliban intelligence in Badakhshan has refused to provide any official information, claiming to be unaware of the situation. Local sources indicate that Ahmadi had recently graduated from Takhar University and was taken from his home in Faizabad by the Taliban.

These incidents are part of a broader pattern of increasing pressure by the Taliban administration on Afghan citizens. In recent months, multiple reports have emerged of arrests and even killings of former military personnel and civil activists in various provinces. The growing number of such cases has sparked serious concern among families and human rights advocates about ongoing and severe human rights violations by the Taliban administration.
