UNICEF Distributes Winter Aid to Vulnerable Families in Bamyan

As winter approaches, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has ramped up the distribution of winter aid to vulnerable families in Bamyan province.
According to the organization, this week it distributed packages of warm clothing and blankets to 244 vulnerable families across various areas of Bamyan. The objective of the assistance is to protect families—particularly children—from the harsh effects of winter and to reduce their social and economic vulnerability.
UNICEF emphasized that its priority is children and families living in emergency and difficult conditions, and it aims to provide essential clothing and supplies before the arrival of the harsh winter season.
In the absence of effective support structures and responsible institutions under Taliban administration, the distribution of this aid underscores the continued crucial role international organizations play in supporting the Afghan people—especially in central provinces like Bamyan, which have long suffered from deprivation and neglect.
